Who am I?
My name is Jess. I’m just a regular girl who enjoys being self-employed doing something I love, and hopefully making life a little better for the amazing people who trust me as their coach. I have a wonderful husband (Bruce), two amazing boys (Will & Sam), and two dogs who are pretty much the best dogs ever (Zeus the Dachshund & Sherlock the Hungarian Vizsla).
I’m also a photographer, so each day I commute (all the way from upstairs to downstairs) to either my gym or my studio – it’s true what they say, if you love your job you’ll never work a day in your life. And if I’m not there, I’ll be out running, reading, beating the kids at Mario Kart, or eating ice-cream.
What's my history?
I’ve been very active since I was tiny, starting in Little A’s (look at that hair!) and Kinder Gym, and spent eight years of my childhood training in an elite gymnastics program. I got into dancing and sports acrobatics after that, then found myself caught up in uni, corporate jobs, getting married and having babies.
I got back into exercise a bit by accident when the boys were 3 & 7, when we all joined a martial arts club. We spent several years there as a family, and I eventually got my black belt in 2021.
To improve my fitness for my black belt grading, I started a little bit of running… which turned into a lot of running… and a whole new community of amazing people who I now train with every week.
Of course to go along with that I started strength training, destroyed my husband’s dream of a pool room by setting up a private gym, and got my PT qualification!
So here I am, 42 years old, and the fittest and strongest I have ever been in my adult life (gymnastics Jess was a beast – I miss her, but I’ll never be that kid again!).

Why am I a coach?
Once I discovered the magic elixir of life (lifting heavy things over and over), I really just wanted to share that with others in my small sphere of influence. So like one of those annoying MLM people who pop up out of your high school yearbook suddenly, I thought “why not make a living doing that?!?”
Jokes aside, my biggest rush from working with my clients is all in the little wins. Helping a fellow mum improve her posture and be free of daily headaches. Training a client in her 70s after a broken shoulder, so now she can hang washing on the line without pain for the first time in years.
We should all be so fortunate to grow old, but it doesn’t have to be a painful slide downhill from 35. Even if we never work together, I encourage you to find some form of exercise that you enjoy, and build a future proof body that will carry you dancing and gardening well into your 80s.
